Assessment of Tangubanons’ with the Current Administration’s Service Delivery in Tangub City
Published in September 2026 (Vol 1, Issue 1, 2026)
This study examined the satisfaction levels of 381 registered voters in Tangub City concerning the delivery of local government services under the city’s comprehensive 8-Point Development Agenda. It utilized a descriptive-comparative quantitative research design and stratified random sampling to gather data. A researcher-developed questionnaire entitled “Evaluation of Service Delivery Satisfaction Among Tangubanons,” using a 4-point Likert scale, served as the primary data collection instrument. The data were analyzed through frequency counts, percentage distributions, weighted means, standard deviations (SD), and one-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) with Tukey’s post hoc test.
The findings revealed that respondents generally expressed a high level of satisfaction with the delivery of municipal services, obtaining an overall grand mean of 2.68. Among the eight strategic sectors, strengthening peace and order and public safety obtained the highest satisfaction rating, with a mean of 2.81, followed by the promotion and institutionalization of good governance, which received a mean of 2.80. In contrast, the empowerment of agri-aqua producers toward sustainable agriculture recorded the lowest satisfaction mean of 2.45. The analysis further showed a statistically significant difference in satisfaction levels among the various age groups (F = 2.316, p = .043). Tukey’s post hoc test indicated that respondents aged 18–24 reported significantly higher satisfaction (M = 2.74, SD = 0.44) than those aged 35–44 (M = 2.54, SD = 0.46; p = .049). The standard deviation values across the age groups suggested relatively consistent responses, ranging from 0.37 to 0.47.
The study concludes that local government service delivery in Tangub City is generally effective, although areas for improvement remain, particularly in post-harvest agricultural facilities, access to training programs, and inclusive participation in grassroots decision-making. In response to these findings, the study recommends that the Department of Agriculture conduct a formal needs assessment to identify and address agricultural service gaps. Barangay leaders are encouraged to improve grassroots service delivery and strengthen feedback mechanisms, while local government officials and civil society organizations are advised to establish stronger collaborative public-private partnerships. Future administrations may use the findings as a reference for policy development, and succeeding researchers may conduct qualitative studies to explore the specific concerns and challenges experienced by agri-aqua producers.
